Hacking for Diplomacy is looking for an inaugural cohort of students who are excited to gain first-hand experience working in an interdisciplinary environment to address pressing foreign policy issues. Because students will be interacting directly with high-level government officials, Hacking for Diplomacy expects a baseline of excellence from its students. As such, interested students must form teams and apply together to work on a specific problem. Teams should be diverse, and include both members with engineering and policy expertise. Note that not everyone on the team is required to be an expert in their problem's field, but it is expected that they will become one by the conclusion of this class.
Applications must be submitted by team for specific problems. Useful background information for completing the application can be found here. If you are looking for a team or team members, sign up on this Google Doc. Please email applications to [email protected] by 3:00pm Saturday, 10/1/2016.
We will hold two informational webinars prior to the start of Fall Quarter. The first is scheduled for 5:30pm (PDT) on August 16th, 2016 and the second for 5:30pm (PDT) on September 14, 2016. Links will be listed on the Home page. There will also be an info-session during the first week of Fall Quarter at 6:30pm on Tuesday 9/27 (Location TBD, will be listed on the Home page). These are opportunities to ask questions, meet other interested students, and form teams.
